55-HOUR FULL HIGHWAY CLOSURE
STATE ROUTE 4 AT SAN JOAQUIN RIVER BRIDGE
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close State Route 4 (SR-4) at the San Joaquin River Bridge for 55 hours for needed repairs.
Work is scheduled beginning at 10:00 p.m. on Friday, December 15, 2017, until 5:00 a.m. on Monday, December 18, 2017.
Detours are as follows:
Traveling Westbound on SR-4
1. Travel south on Interstate 5, exit at Mathews Road and head west
2. Merge left onto Howard Road and head west
3. North on Roberts Road
4. Return to westbound SR-4
Traveling Eastbound on SR-4
1. South on Roberts Road
2. East on Howard Road
3. Merge onto Mathews Road and head east
4. North on Interstate 5, return to eastbound SR-4
These repairs are being done to will improve the bridge and roadway efficiency and safety for motorists traveling in San Joaquin County.
Motorists should expect 20 minute delays. Alternate routes should be taken whenever possible.
Work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment and/or materials and construction related issues.
